Temple
The temple measures
5 acres (2.0 ha) in size and is enclosed by a granite wall that is 580 feet
(180 metres) long and 396 feet (121 metres) wide. The temple's gateway tower,
the rajagopuram, stands 110 feet (34 metres) tall. The temple is surrounded by
a granite wall that encloses all of its shrines as well as two of its three
bodies of water.
The figure of Sri
Vishnu as Srivaikunanatha, standing with a club in his hand, may be found in
the sanctuary. Sri Adisesha, Sri Vishnu's serpent, is shown with a parasol over
his head. Ablution is commonly done with milk and the picture is created with
Saligrama stone.
The festival
picture of Vishnu constructed of panchaloha, with images of his consorts Sri
Sridevi (Lakshmi) and Sri Bhudevi on either side is housed in the Artha Mandapam,
the hall preceding the sanctum. 1000 – 2000 years old temple
The sculptor is
said to have touched the figure's cheeks with his palm as he became fascinated
by it, as seen by the image. On either side of the Ardha mandapa, two
dwarapalas stand vigil.
This is the only
temple where Sri Adisesha, the serpent, guards Sri Vishnu in a standing
position, as opposed to the other temples where it defends Sri Vishnu in a
sitting position.
Sri Vaikuntha
Nayaki and Sri Chorantha Nayaki, Sri Vishnu's two consorts, have separate
shrines facing each other. Sri Vishvaksena (Senai Mudaliyar), Sri Garuda, Sri
Krishna as Sri Venugopala, Manavala Mamunigal, and Sri Yoga Narasimha each have
their own shrine.
The temple also
houses the festival images of Sri Yoga Narasimha and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. The
images of Vishnu's 10 avatars are housed in a separate shrine. There are five
precincts in the temple. The Mahamandapa and Swarga Madapa are said to have
been added later.
Rare life-size
statues commissioned during the 16th century are housed in Thiruvengadamudayan
hall, which is positioned to the right of the gopuram. In the hall, there are
countless images of yalis, elephants, and deities, some of which are as large
as 5 ft (1.5 m).
The pillars of the
Dwajastamba mandap have polished architectural elements. Monkeys, squirrels,
and parrots are among the sculptures on the Tirumozhi mandap.
It also has
photographs of monkeys engaged in various activities. The 108 Divya Desam
temples of Sri Vishnu are shown in murals throughout the temple's corridor. The
temple is surrounded by thick foliage and boasts a nine-tiered rajagopuram.

THIRUVILLIPUTHUR
Location
Srivilliputtur temple is located about 80 kms from Madurai in the bus route of Madurai - Rajapalayam. It is situated in Virudhunagar District, Tamilnadu - India.
About
Temple
The temple is
divided into two sections: one for Sri Andal on the southwest and another for
Sri Vatapatrasayi (Vishnu) on the northeast.
The temple is
surrounded by a granite wall that encloses all of its shrines, the garden where
Sri Andal was discovered, and two of the temple's three pools of water.
The temple's
gateway tower, the rajagopuram, stands 192 feet (59 metres) tall. Periyalvar is
said to have built the tower with prize money he won in theological disputes at
the court of Vallaba Pandya in Madurai.
Sri Andal and Sri
Rangamannar's images are housed in Sri Andal shrine. The same shrine also
houses Garuda, who brought Sri Ranganathar, the celestial bridegroom, from
Srirangam.
Paintings representing
Sri Andal's life can be found on the shrine's walls. The Kalyana Mandapa, the
second hall from the entry to the sanctuary, includes massive life-size
sculptures of Mohini, Sri Rama, Kamadeva, Rati, and many more deities.
There are two
precincts in the Sri Vatapatrasayi division. The figure of Sri Vatapatrasayi in
a reclining posture, with his consorts Sri Lakshmi (Sridevi) and Sri Bhudevi at
his feet, is housed in the sanctuary on the second floor, which is reached
through a flight of steps.
Sage Bhrigu is at
his feet, while sage Markandeya is at his head. Behind Bhrigu is a banyan tree
whose leaf is known as Vatapatram, on which Sri Vishnu is claimed to have
rested in the guise of a baby during the deluge.1000 – 2000 years old temple.
Sri Rangamannar is
surrounded by images of Panchamurtis Tumburu, Narada, Sanatkumara, Kinnara
Mithuna, the Sun, and the Moon, as well as depictions of Villi and Puttan at
his feet.
The presiding god
can be observed through three doors in the sanctum. Bhopala villam, the hall
leading to the sanctum, contains a hall with intricate teak wood carvings
depicting Purana episodes and the 10 incarnations of Sri Vishnu, the
Dashavatara. The ceiling is adorned with a collection of carvings.
Specialities
It is thought that
two of the Alwars, Periyalwar and his daughter Sri Andal Naachiyaar, were born
there. The
temple is linked to the life of Sri Andal, who was discovered by Periyalwar
under a Tulsi plant in the temple's garden.
She is thought to
have worn the garland before dedicating it to the temple's presiding deity.
Periyalwar, who later discovered it, was furious and put an end to the
practise.
Sri Vishnu is said
to have appeared to him in a dream and urged him to devote Sri Andal's garland
to him on a daily basis, which is still done today. Sri Ranganatha of the
Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple is also said to have wedded Sri Andal, who
later merged with him.

located on a granite hill that stands 100 feet (30 metres) tall, and it is
surrounded by a granite wall that encloses all of the temple's shrines and
bodies of water.
The temple is
located on the hillock on the opposite side of Sri Karunellinathar temple, a
well-known Shiva temple, and may be approached from there.
In contrast to
most South Indian temples, which have a steep structure, the rajagopuram, the
main entryway tower, has a level structure. 1000 – 2000 years old temple
Sri Aruna Mahadevi
(also known as "Sri Shenbagavalli"), Sri Nindra Narayana's consort,
has her own shrine in the second deck.
Sri Shenbagavalli
is the name of Sri Arunakamala Mahadevi's Utsavar (festival image), which is
kept in the same shrine. Unlike other temples, Thayar's picture is depicted in
a standing position. All poojas are performed first for Thayar, then for the
presiding deity.
The four-pillared
hall, car hall, and mirror room are all located on the second tier. To the west
of Kalyana Mandap is a cave shrine on the bottom tier that bears evidence of
Pandyan art. The cave has the picture of Sri Pallikonda Perumal, with Sri
Sridevi and Sri Bhudevi serving at his feet and sages Markandeya and Bhrigu in
prominent positions on either side.
The rectangular
walls that surround the temple enclose all of the temple's shrines and water
features. In comparison to the rajagopuram, the major gateway tower, the
rajagopuram has a flat structure.
Specialities
The Garudan is
another aspect of this sthalam. Garudalwar is discovered with a snake in his
left hand and an Amudha Kalasam in his right hand, doing seva with his other
two hands folded, and he is discovered with four hands.
Another unique
feature is that the Thaayar is observed standing in front of her thirumugam,
facing east. The thaayar is only found in sitting position in all of the
sthalams, but only in this sthalam is she found standing, which is thought to
be one of the temple's unique features.

THIRUKOODAL - MADURAI
Location
Koodal Azhgar
Kovil is located in Maudrai city, Tamilnadu - India.
The Koodal Azhagar
temple is roughly 2 acres (0.81 hectares) in size and includes a five-tiered
gopuram (gateway tower) that rises to 125 feet (38 m).
The temple is
surrounded by massive stone walls in a rectangular courtyard. The central
shrine features a raised construction and includes images of Sri Koodal
Azhagar, the presiding god, in three postures: sitting, standing, and
reclining. The granite picture is 6 feet (1.8 metres) tall and in a sitting
position.
Sri Sridevi and
Sri Bhudevi's images can be found on both sides of Sri Koodal Azhagar. 1000 –
2000 years old temple
Sri Vyuga
Sundararajar is the festival deity, and the image is 4 ft (1.2 m) tall and made
of panchaloha. Adhistana (base), three Padas (struct), Prashthana (limb), Griva
(leading struct), Shikara (cylindrical holder), and Stupi are the eight
elements of the vimana, which is the shrine over the sanctuary (top portion).
Stucco images of
sages, Sri Dasavatara, Sri Bhuvaraha, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, Sri Lakshmi
Narayana, and Sri Narayanamoorthy, adorn the vimana's outside walls.
Vishwakarma, the celestial architect, is said to have designed the vimana.
The vimana's
shadow does not fall on the ground. The Ashtanga Vimana may be found in the
temples of Mannar Koil Ambasamudram Uthiramerur, Thirukoshtiyur, and
Cheranmadevi in Mannar Koil Ambasamudram Uthiramerur.
Specialities
The Navagraha
Sannadhis will not be found in any Vaishnava temple and will only be found in
Lord Shiva or Saiva temples. However, there is a separate sannadhi for the
Navagrahas in this sthalam.
This implies that
both Vaishnavam and Saivam should be regarded as one God, rather than two
independent Gods.
Periyalwar solely
sang his wonderful Thiruppallandu in this sthalam, which is sung in
appreciation of the Sri Emperumaan, and as a result, he received Sriman
Narayanan's Prathyaksham as "Sri Koodal Azhagar."

About
Temple
The temple is
built on a 2.5-acre (10,000-m2) plot of land and features a five-tiered
rajagopuram. The temple is almost 2000 years old and has been mentioned in
Akanau, Padhitrupathu, Maduraikanchi, and Silappatikaram, one of Tamil
literature's five great epics.
Inside the temple,
there are four prakarams (closed precincts of a temple). A five-tiered
rajagopuram stands at the entrance to the temple (gateway tower). The hall
contains columned pillars that lead to the Garuda hall, which includes a tiny
gopuram as well.
The sanctum holds
Sri Kalamegha's shrine as well as images of Sri Bhoodevi and Sri Sridevi. The
main peculiarity is that, unlike other temples, the Devis do not touch the
presiding deity's feet. The image of Sri Anantasayi Vishnu is housed in a
separate shrine.
Sri Tirumohurvalli
(also known as Sri Mohanavalli), the presiding deity's consort, is placed in a
separate shrine.1000 – 2000 years old temple.

is on the front of the Sudarshana Chakra, and Sri Narasingha Perumal is on the
back. The Sudarshana Chakra is surrounded by 48 fairies, and there are 16
aayuthams with 154 letters inside the six circles. The letters are thought to
be Bhijakshara Mantra text. Sri Perumal is represented as having 16 hands and
three brilliant eyes.
Sri Chakrathazwhar

Sri Sathyamurthi
Perumal is the presiding deity. The temple is enormous and old, and it has a
stunning aspect. The main statue of Sri Sathyamurthi Perumal, which stands
about seven feet tall, stands atop a rock with his wives.
Sri Mahavishnu's
sculpture at the next Sannidhanam (sanctum) is in a sleeping position, called
ari thuyil in Tamil, sleeping with a sense of knowing what is going on right
now. Many temples have sculptures of Sri Mahavishnu in this pose, but this is
one of the greatest ones.
In the temple,
there are numerous other sannidhis. All of the statues are finely sculpted.
It is home to India's largest Anantasayi (Sri Vishnu in a reclining
position).
It's a natural
cavern that's been rockcut to create different images. The Ardha mandapa is a
rectangular chamber that precedes the sanctum and is identical in shape to the
sanctum.1000 – 2000 years old temple.
Images of Garuda,
Chitragupta, Markandeya, Sri Brahma, the Devas, Vasus, and the Kinnaras adorn
