India is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, and like this, devotion is found all across the country. The Paramathma, Sriman Narayanan – Lord Vishnu, is found in all of the people’s jeevathma’s-mind and heart. Lord Vishnu is in various positions in various Thirukkolam – posture or position, from Kanyakumari to the Himalayas, in various positions in various temples.
Azhwars - saints who are considered
to be Sriman Narayanan's amsam - feature, have sung Mangalasasanam (sung in
praise of the Lord Vishnu. on the Perumal, and there are a total of 108 temples
where Azhwars have performed Mangalasasanam on the Lord Vishnu - perumal. The
108 Vishnu temples are known as "Divya desam", which translates to
"Holy Shrine Spots".
On the Indian subcontinent, there are
106.- 105 in India and 1 in Nepal. The final two, Tirupparkadal and
Srivaikuntam, can only be reached after one has died. The Tirupparkadal is
known as the "ocean of milk," and the Srivaikuntam is Lord Narayana's
realm.

Perumal is seen on various Thirukkolam in these 108 Divyadesams, and he is also
facing his Thirumugham – holy face - in various directions and doing his seva -
blessings, which are as follows:

Lord Vishnu is facing the east direction.
In 19 Divyadesams
Lord Vishnu is in temples facing the west
direction.

Lord Vishnu is in temples facing the north
direction.

CHOLA NAATU DIVYA DESAM - 40 TEMPLES
The Chola Dynasty was a territory of
Tamil Nadu, India's southernmost state. It comprises the Cauveri River's lower
reaches and delta and served as the cultural and political heartland of the
Chola Dynasty, which dominated gaint swaths of South India and Sri Lanka
between the 9th and the 13th centuries CE. The early Chola
capital was Uraiyur (now part of Tiruchirapalli city.; then the mediaeval
Cholas moved to Thanjavur, and finally, in the 11th century CE, Chola monarch
Rajendra Chola I moved the capital to Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Ariyalur.

Naadu, is a geographical territory that encompasses the present-day state of
Tamil Nadu. The Venad/Ay Nadu borders the region on the west, the Chola Naadu
on the northeast, and the Kongu Naadu on the northwest. Madurai, Theni,
Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi,
