HOW TO EAT – FOR HEALTHY LIFE
We should eat
food in a disciple manner. Some people eat food whenever they think and
whenever they get food. Eating whenever we want is not a good habit.
Every day at a
particular time we have to take food is a good method for a healthy lifestyle.
This time interval should help in digesting the food we eat. The human body is
accepting this eating time. This is the best discipline method of eating and a
healthy habit too.
Correct time for consuming food:
Our ancestors
said that when you feel hunger, you consume food. That should be the correct
time to eat food. Otherwise, don’t eat when temptation occurs. Consuming food
without hunger is the main reason for many diseases. This suffering was caused
by the food we ate without hunger.
The symptoms of
hunger are tasty food and wish to eat tasty and good food. For consuming food,
we need not only hunger; we should also have good tasty food. Good taste and
good hunger are very important for consuming healthy food. We can classify
hunger into two types, true hunger and false hunger. We have to know how to
differentiate the real hunger from the false one. A false one needs not go for
tasty food or tasteless food. It will eat whenever you want.
When will we get
true hunger? After the digestion process is completed, and the process of waste
extraction from food finished, we get true hunger. For this process, we should
give time. So, time interval between eating food that is breakfast in the
morning, lunch in the afternoon and dinner in the night time. We should give a
gap in eating.
The great
Thiruvalluvar said that in Thirukkural 943:
அற்றால் அறவறிந்து உண்க அஃதுடம்பு
பெற்றான் நெடிதுய்க்கும் ஆறு.
atraal aRavaRindhu uNka aqdhutambu
petraan netidhuykkum aaRu
Anyone who has a body gained may keep the
gift retain,
If the food is digested well, we eat again.
If one's food has been digested, let one eat
with moderation; that is the way to prolong the life of an embodied soul.
If you feel hungry, then eat; otherwise,
don’t consume food. This is the way to live healthily.
THREE TIME A DAY – EATING HABIT
In
24 hours, we consume food three times. For example, one will consume food at
8’o clock in the morning, then 1’o clock in the afternoon and 8’o clock in the
night.
We
will calculate the interval time. The interval between the dinner and the next
day morning breakfast is exactly 12 hours. The time interval between the
breakfast in the morning and the lunch in the afternoon is 5 hours.

time interval between the afternoon lunch and the night dinner is 7 hours. So,
we should notify that interval time is not the same. That is one is 12 hours
next is 5 hours next is 7 hours. The time is interval is not same.
Moreover,
the time between night dinner and the next morning breakfast is 12 hours. In
that we spend 6 hours to 8 hours in sleeping. The rest of the time we get rest
peacefully. So that the quantity need for breakfast is less. We will take
breakfast with less quantity and healthy food.
One
more thing here is that we have to pay attention that an empty stomach is best
for hard work in the morning. That means working with an empty stomach, not
with hunger. For working we need some food for getting energy.
If
you work hard after morning breakfast, you should have lunch heavily as a
result of your hard work. Hard-working people eat heavy meals in the afternoon,
which is very much needed for them. The people have brain work, than the
physical work needs little food. The working method that is hard-work or not is
deciding the quantity of food needed for people. Hard-working people need heavy
food and soft-working people need little healthy food. It is enough for them.
The
night food that is dinner depends on the evening snacks. If you consume a lot
of snacks, then reduce the quantity of dinner because we will go to sleep. Our
body is completely at rest only. So, no need for too much food for dinner. If
you consume little food as dinner, then you will be healthy.
In ayurveda medicine, they mention the
correct time to eat. We should always remember that method and follow that.
Here is that method: When our waste is extracted from the body that is urine
and motion, when our mind is in peace, when we are in an idle position, when
the stomach is fully empty, when our body becomes weightless, when our sense
organs work sharply, when we feel hunger, then we eat. That is the right time
to eat food. That is the correct way to live healthily.
WHICH TIME IS TO AVOID EATING FOOD?
We
should avoid eating food in some time. It is also good for our health. Some
people think that eat always and no particular time are allotted for eating
food. That is wrong intention. Those people should change their mindset.
Which time is not good for eating? Here we mention
that.
1. Doing some work:
Doing
some work while eating is not good for health. Some people watch television,
read a newspaper, read books while eating. This is not a good habit and not
good for health too. At this time our mind will not fully concentrate on the
food we eat. The digestion process is affected by this habit. So avoid doing
something while we eat food.
2. In tension:
You
should avoid eating when you are in some tension and in the time of worry. If
you eat at these times, you cannot feel the taste of the food. So it becomes a
burden to us. We should sit peacefully for a few minutes and then when we get
peace, then eat. It is good for health.
3. In an angry:
You
should avoid eating when you are angry. When you are in an angry mood, your
pulse rate, blood flow and nerves are not in good condition. If you eat with
anger, it may become poison. So eat after you become calm.
4. In a sick condition:
Patients
pay attention while eating food. You should avoid food when you suffer from
fever and stomach ache. You may get a remedy by not eating food sometimes. So
avoid eating food that time.
5. In tired:
After
doing hard-work or heavy physical exercise, the body becomes very tired. Avoid
eating food in that tired condition. After you become relaxed, you can eat. It
will be healthy.
6. In an urgent:
Some
people eat very urgently to catch their train or bus. They eat in the standing
position and eat while walking. They put food in the mouth rapidly. This was
not considered to be a good eating habit. You should sit, eat calmly and enjoy
the taste of food. It is the best method of healthy eating.
7. In sleeping mode:
Some
people will eat in half-sleep mode or not fully wake up. If you eat like this,
you will suffer from indigestion problem. You should wake up completely when
you eat. Then only that food gets digested and gives good health to your life.
8. In between:
People
who eat between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner may suffer from
many diseases like obesity. We should give a proper time interval for
digestion. This habit will affect the next schedule eating that is if you eat
between breakfast and lunch, definitely it will affect lunch. So we must avoid
eating food in between time.
9. Hot or cold food:
The
food should not be very cold or hot. We should avoid those foods. The coolest
and hottest food will affect the intestine. So avoid eating like this and eat
in a normal condition.
Discipline:
We
should follow a discipline method of eating food. Eat food at a particular
time. Then it will become your habit. Avoid eating at an improper time.
Many
women working for her home will not eat properly. They always do work for their
family without eating too. They should plan and spend time on eating food is
better. If they eat properly and calmly, their family becomes healthier.
Time
is gold. So eating food at the correct time is also a golden habit. Follow
that, eat healthily and live happily. Eating habit is an art. Health is wealth.
