What are chakras?
Every
human needs energy to live healthily and happily. Naturally, our bodies have
inbuilt energy centres. They are located in our astral body. It is located
along our spine, starting at the base to the crown of the head.
Each
chakra corresponds to a gland in the physical body and emits a distinct colour
and energy. Because each chakra is associated with unique spiritual,
emotional, psychological, and physical parts of our being, it is believed that
chakra blockage or malfunction can result in physical, psychological, and
emotional problems.
When a chakra, or energy wheel, becomes stuck,
movement might aid in the release of prana (energy). Because yoga postures and
the breath welcome fresh, vibrant energy back into the body, they are an
excellent way to discharge stale or trapped energy.
On the other side, it is thought that conscious
knowledge and balancing of these energy centres leads to happiness and good health. One of the
goals of Yogasana or Yoga practice is
to stimulate and balance the chakras, or body energy.
HISTORY
With the rise in popularity of yoga and New Age
ideologies in general, chakras have just recently become more well-known. They
are an ancient, sophisticated energy system that originated in India. The
Vedas, ancient sacred writings of spiritual wisdom spanning from 1500 to 1000
BC, were the first to reference them.
Let's look at the seven chakras in our bodies, how
they affect our bodies, what an imbalance causes to our personalities and
organs, and how to correct it using yoga asana or poses.

Let’s discuss briefly about 7 chakras...
1. THE ROOT OR BASE CHAKRA -
MOOLADHARA CHAKRA
At the pelvic floor, between the anus and the
genitals, the Mooladhara chakra is located. It serves as our taproot, keeping
us physically robust and safe and grounded in embodied reality. This chakra is
in charge of your family bonds, as well as your sentiments of survival,
belonging, and security. Your earliest memories, including whether or not your
basic requirements were supplied, are stored in the Mooladhara chakra.

Our
sacrum houses this chakra. It denotes fluidity, inventiveness, and fertility
and corresponds to your reproductive and sexual organs. It is located about four fingers below the navel, at
the lower abdomen. You can take this chakra literally or correlate
it with whether or not you believe you are deserving of a happy, prosperous,
and creative life.

3. THE SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA – MANIPOORA CHAKRA
The third chakra, called Manipoora, is situated at
the navel. "Manipoora" signifies "glossy diamond of the city"
and is related to the regular component fire and straightforwardly connected to
your ability to be self-aware. Its related shading is yellow; henceforth, it
connects to fire and, all the more comprehensively, the sun.
Self-esteem, sense of purpose, personal identity,
individual will, digestion, and metabolism are all linked to this energy
region.

4. THE HEART CHAKRA – ANAHATHA CHAKRA
In the centre of
your chest is the heart chakra. It is the “seat of the soul”, according to
yogic tradition. We might consider the heart chakra, which is associated with
the lungs and the element of air, as the meeting place for the full spectrum of
our human emotional experience.
The heart chakra has the ability to emit the human
being's finest qualities: compassion, unconditional love, and complete faith in
the Divine. It can, however, transmit our deepest feelings of uncertainty,
disillusionment, loneliness, and despair.

the meeting point of the mind and body.

linked to beauty and the spiritual realm. It assists you in realising who you
are beyond your physical self—that you are a spiritual entity living a human
life. This chakra links us to everything that is beyond our ego.
It encompasses all that exists outside of our
linear cognition, as well as our individual needs, preferences, and emotional
experiences. It is the entry point and source of illumination. The crown chakra
is placed above the crown of the head and is not contained within the body.
